Between The Sheets: All Kinds Of Hard (18)

Anita had walked out of Tolu’s office trying so hard to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall.
She couldn’t seem to remember anything else as she found her way of out of the building. All that she could see was the memory of another woman in his arms and that one picture (now imprinted in her subconscious) broke her heart over and over again yet she wouldn’t allow herself to cry.
Minutes later, she sat in her car willing herself to find the strength to turn on the car and drive away yet failing every time. Soon, she heard his voice accompanied by hers and she crouched in her car waiting to see what would happen…
Watching Tolu look at that woman like she was the most beautiful girl in the world and kiss her like he never wanted to stop – That was the last straw for Anita. She sat there watching them while she cried and cried some more. Tolu had never looked at her like that before… never! They looked so good together, so oblivious to their surroundings… to the fact that her car was parked not too far away from them.
She put her hands through her weave in frustration. How did this happen? How did she not see it coming? She thought Tolu was content with what they had. She watched them walk back to the building with his arm on her waist and she cried some more. They were probably going in to have s3x. In the same office, in the same room. ‘No!’, she exclaimed. She was about to open her door and move to follow them when she stopped herself. ‘To do what, Ni? To what end?’ she asked herself. She sat in her car with her hand on the door struggling to do what was right or what she could.
Just then, she saw them walk out of the building, she watched them both get into Tolu’s car and she watched them drive out of the parking lot. She waited no more than two minutes before starting her car. All she wanted to do was see where they were headed. It wasn’t wrong, was it?
She focused on keeping up with Tolu’s car; in the meantime, her tears were forgotten. She followed the car steadily yet discreetly as it drove into a street and parked in front of a house. She parked her car a distance away making sure that she could still keep an eye on them. It was definitely not Tolu’s house so it could only mean that it was the lady’s. She sighed. At least, he wasn’t taking her to his home.
Could it mean that they were not as serious as they looked? She stopped and watched as the door to the passenger side opened and she watched the lady get down, wave goodbye and walk toward the house. She had almost gotten to the gate when Tolu magically appeared behind her pulling her to himself and giving her another deep kiss.
Anita couldn’t comprehend how he had gotten to her. She watched him as he reluctantly let her go before getting into his car and driving off. Long after he drove off, Anita was still sitting in her car trying to come to terms with all that she had witnessed tonight. She remembered the way Tolu had quickly left her to sit by the other lady and the tears came rolling down in full force. It felt like she couldn’t breathe, like the air was being sucked out of her. Could she ever survive this?
