By the time he got to her office, she was packed up and ready to leave. ‘Amaka’, Tolu called out. She turned around. ‘Yes, can I help you sir?’
There was no sign of hurt on her face. Instead, she looked like nothing had happened. ‘Can we talk about what happened?’ ‘Nothing happened. Your girlfriend is pretty.‘ ‘She is not my girlfriend.’, Tolu stated. He was trying to figure out what was going through her mind.
She smiled. ‘Fiance? How nice. Congratulations!’ She had her bags with her and she was about to pass by him when he pulled her back to him. ‘Stop, Amaka. Please, just stop this and let’s talk about it. You don’t always have to hold in your feelings and try to act like every thing is great all the time.’
The more he tried to hold onto her, the more she struggled in his arms ‘Just let me go home!’, she insisted. When he couldn’t hold her back with his arms anymore, he silenced her with his lips not caring that she was trying to push him away with all of her strength. He didn’t relent until he felt her yield to him. He tried to make her forget everything else with his kisses and just before it would go too far, he stopped himself and pulled away. She wouldn’t even let go, he could see that she was unconsciously moving in tune with him. He watched her try to get her breath back to normal while her eyes were closed.
‘Amaka, look at me’, Tolu whispered and when she did, he said ‘It was just s3x between us… nothing more. I told you… I don’t want that anymore.’ He kissed her forehead ‘I want something more, Amaka. I’m ready for something more. Are you?’ She nodded, then in a heartbeat, she shook her head.
Tolu looked into her eyes ‘Amaka?’ She looked away from his gaze for a few seconds before she cleared her throat ‘I... I need some time. It’s not that I don’t believe you… but it’s all going too fast. I need some time to think.‘ At that moment, he remembered that she had never done any of this before. She was a virgin afterall.
As soon as he realized that, he calmed down and said ‘It’s okay, Amaka. I understand. Take all the time you need.’ After kissing her some more, he asked to drop her home. When they got to the park, Amaka remembered her cake and chocolates in the fridge. ‘It’s in the kitchen and anyone could get to it. Normally, I wouldn’t mind but… it’s special and I want to savor the rest of it.‘
Tolu could barely stop himself from grinning. ‘Special eh? I thought we didn’t know who sent it? Meanwhile, who says ‘savor’ in this country please?’ ‘I…‘ A kiss silenced her thoughts. When he pulled away, he heard her sigh and it pleased him. ‘I enjoy teasing you because you fall everytime.’ Tolu said. ‘Why not move it to the fridge in my office? That way, it’ll be safe for you to ‘savor’ properly’ With that said he pulled her close, put his arm around her waist and they headed back to the building together…
